Living the coconut dream
Dearest coconut tribe, Let me start by saying a HUGE THANK YOU for sticking with me whilst I spend time behind the scenes at Coconuts and Salty Kisses. I have been working hard to create new content and make the blog more visually appealing so I really hope you enjoy the new look!
Being the perfectionist that I am, the creative work has taken a lot longer than I expected (!!) and there is still a lot of work to do but I am getting there. Thank you so much for your patience! The blogosphere is very new to me but I am learning a great deal with every new step that I take and I'm so excited to start sharing more content with you.
Since I last posted, so many exciting things have been happening - both with the blog and life in general. Here's a little overview of what's been going on over the past few months…
Australian Open of Surfing
In February, the Australian Open of Surfing came to Manly…possibly the best 9 days of my calendar year, EVERY YEAR! Because, well, hot surfers. Plus it's Australia's largest surf, skate and music festival and I'm lucky enough to have it on my doorstep.
This year's highlights include watching the beautiful Steph Gilmore and Laura Enever compete, and hanging with three time world champion Mick Fanning. OK, I didn't realllyyyy 'hang' with him, but I did share the same beach so that's the same right?! Oh and to top it off, Vance Joy performed on the final evening. HUGE CRUSH.
Here’s a few more from the event...
Bondi with Bieber (not Justin)
Later in the month I had the privilege of staying in Bondi for a week and dog sitting this little beauty. His name is Bieber...yup, that's his ACTUAL NAME and I actually had to shout 'Bieber' out loud in a real life park in front of real life people and hot men and other serious dog owners. But he's worth it because he's just the cutest little ball of fluff and gives out the biggest amount of love, at every hour of the day...especially when I'm trying to sleep.
Oh and here's Bieber chillin' on Manly beach, what a dude. (Check out my koala pillow...)
Whilst living in Bondi, I was fortunate enough to be invited to an early morning yoga class with One Wave Is All It Takes. This incredible group of people support those with mental health issues by donning bright clothing and spreading love over Bondi beach every Friday. The group is made up of a unique bunch of yogis, surfers and beach lovers who have a genuine passion for helping others. I was absolutely blown away by the group's kindness, generosity and warmth. If you get the chance, head to Bondi beach to watch the sunrise with this amazing group of people. You can find out more here: http://onewaveisallittakes.com.

After a week hanging with the cool kids in Bondi, chillin' with my buddy Bieber, I was delighted to arrive home to Manly and this VIEW:
And this view...
Andddd this view....
Ok that's enough Manly love for now. But it is one of my favourite places, maybe in the world.
Kangaroo Valley kayaking
A couple of weeks later I finally ventured out of the Manly bubble and travelled to Kangaroo Valley for a weekend of kayaking.
HOLY MOLY, what a beautiful place! I'm so excited to tell you more about it soon but basically all you need to know for now is that it blew my mind. Full of lush grassland, peaceful rivers and KANGEROOS! Just wow. Here's a little sneaky peak...
(Special thanks to my good friend Ed Dallimore for the photo)
Popcorn and films al fresco
After hanging with the kangeroos, I paid a visit to St George's Open Air Cinema. Dubbed as 'the best cinema in the world', I can TOTALLY SEE WHY! Epic views, epic film and lots of sweet and salty popcorn (my favourite). What more could a girl want?! Maybe a date with Channing Tatum. With sweet and salty popcorn.
And finally, I wanted to share one of my favourite parts of every working day....sunset on the Manly ferry - BEAUT.
Well that's a wrap of my life over the past couple of months, with a large sprinkle of Coconuts and Salty Kisses work in between...and lots of other boring stuff too! I promise there are more exciting articles about healthy eating, recipes, fitness trends, women in business and lots of other bits to come VERY SOON.
Thank you so much again for sticking with me whilst I sporadically post and thank you for taking the time to read.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening!
