Owning 10% of the Weight Watchers company, Oprah follows her 30 points of food a day - to a T. In a recent interview with People magazine, Oprah said she eats the same thing for lunch every single day: soup (now that’s dedication!) She also adds a salad with zero-point greens and one teaspoon of oil. One of her fave pairings is tomato soup with a Tuscan kale and apple salad. You go girl!
There’s no denying that Arianna Huffington loves her eight hours of sleep, but she’s also big on eating an appetizing lunch. True to her Mediterranean roots, Arianna loves a big salad with tons of radicchio, arugula and iceberg lettuce. As for her choice of protein, she mixes it up with grilled fish, chicken or eggs. If it’s vegetables instead of leafy greens, her favourites are cauliflower, broccoli, snap peas and asparagus usually dressed in Greek olive oil (of course) and balsamic vinegar.
Kayla Itsines proves that you can make friends with salad. Kayla usually opts for a salad with lean protein - like chicken or tuna - for lunch. In her opinion, salads are super easy and convenient to make at home or grab at a local cafe. Her favourite homemade salad combo includes tuna, cucumber, onion, basil, mint and cheese. She always aims to pop in some complex carbs - like whole wheat croutons or quinoa - to give her body the right amount of energy before she works out. When she’s not chowing down on healthy salads, Kayla also loves whole wheat wraps stuffed with a variety of her favourite ingredients like chicken, lettuce and tomato.
